Saving and reverting changes

In this document

You'll learn how the Energy system designer auto-saves your progress and offers manual Save, Save and close, and Close options from both the File menu and the Save button, how automatic design validation runs on every save, how the system offers to recover unsaved edits on next startup, and how to use the Edit menu's undo/redo feature to revert or reapply up to 100 actions.

Energy system designed saving options

The Energy system designer saves your progress automatically. You will not loose your progress if you forget to save your design. However, you can still trigger manual saving of your project at any time while in the Energy system designer.

There are two locations where you can access the saving options - from the File menu in the top navigation of the ESD and via the “Save” button to the top right. Both contain the following options:

  • Save: Saves the design without closing the ESD (Click the “Save” button).

  • Save and close: Saves the design and exits the ESD (dropdown arrow next to the “Save” button).

  • Close: Closes the ESD without saving any changes (dropdown arrow next to the “Save” button).

Notes:

  • Automatic design validation is performed when you save your work to ensure it complies with all ESD and electrical requirements.

  • If you close the design without saving, the system will remember your last edits and will prompt you to choose whether you want to recover your work on the next ESD and startup.

Undo/redo feature

Energy system designer lets you revert up to 100 actions back and the feature is available via the Edit menu. Additionally, you can redo the changes you have previously reverted.
