Dashboard project management

In this document

You will learn to manage and archive your projects, change the project’s owner, create and assign it labels, view its details, and open projects in your subscribed applications.

Project management page

You can manage all projects in one place on the dashboard Projects page. This will allow you to rename or change the project owner (assign it to a colleague), subscribe it to another application (e.g., import Prospect project to Evaluate), or create and categorize them using custom labels.

  1. Projects list with their status, assigned owner, date of last change, and date of creation.

  2. Filters you can use to show particular projects only, each displayed with the number of projects to show when activated.

  3. Additional project options menu to change the project owner, open a project or its details, archive it, assign labels, or request assistance.

  4. Switch between list and map view.

  5. Application icons the project has been activated in. You can click them to open the project in the related application. (P-Prospect, E-Evaluate, the rest is under development).

Once you select a project using the checkbox, additional options will show:

  1. Open the selected project in the subscribed applications.

  2. Open/close the side panel with more project details.

  3. Open the project location details.

Filtering the displayed projects

If you are an account admin, the drop-down selector lets you choose between displaying projects assigned to any owner (Company projects) and the ones assigned to you only (My projects).

When company projects are selected, a list of company users will be listed under the filter.

You can filter the projects using the provided filters:

  1. Click the filter you want to apply. The number next to it represents the number of projects meeting the filter criteria. When company projects are shown, you can also filter them by user.

  2. Filtered projects will be displayed.

  3. The active filter is displayed above the filter selector.

You can expand the filtering options beyond the standard filters by using labels.

Archived projects will not show under the label filters. They can be viewed using the Archived filter only.

Creating and assigning labels

The filters section includes labels to give you more flexibility in categorizing and filtering your projects. Once created, they can be assigned to projects and used for filtering.

To create a label:

  1. Click the “+” in the labels filter section,

  2. Enter the label name in the new popup,

  3. Submit by clicking the “OK” button.

Your new label will be added to the labels list. You can now assign it to a project and use it for filtering.

Assigning labels to projects

You can assign a label to a project in two ways:

  • Using the Project Actions menu

  • From the Project Info page

To assign a label from the project actions menu:

  1. Click the three-dot menu of the project.

  2. Select “Assign label” from the dropdown and choose one or more labels to attach to the project.

The Dashboard project details guide explains how to assign a label on the project info page.

Project actions menu

You can open the project actions by clicking the project’s three-dot menu. The following actions are available:

  • Open the project using the default application or any other application that is available.

  • Project properties - open the project’s details.

  • Request consultancy service - this form can be used for consultancy services such as Solar Resource Assessment, Albedo Site Adaptation, PV Yield Assessment, and more. Follow the onscreen instructions to submit the request.

  • Rename - renames the project.

  • Change owner - assign the project to another team member. You will no longer see the projects on your dashboard. As an admin user, you can change owner of any project, not just yours.

  • Assign labels - assign labels to a project.

  • Archive/Unarchive - used to archive or activate the project.

Changing the project owner

Only admin users can assign projects to different users.

You can assign any of your projects to another team member.

  1. Open the project actions menu.

  2. Select the “Change owner” link, select the new owner from the dropdown, and submit. Projects with a new owner will disappear from your projects list.

Sharing projects between applications

Your projects are assigned to an application upon their creation. However, you can change it later if required and enable it in other supported applications. The most common case would be activating Prospect projects in Evaluate to continue to work on them.

To change your project activation in applications, open the project actions menu and select “Project properties”:

  1. Click the “Applications” link in the navigator to the left.

  2. Use the toggle in the Product visibility column to activate/deactivate it in a particular application.

Once the activation has been enabled, you will be able to open the project in the new application.

Please be aware that activating a project for Prospect application this way will deduct one point from your Prospects projects subscription allowance.
