We will explain what the component classification is and, for company users uploading new components, how to improve the classification of their components.
The confidence classification explained
Components added to the catalog undergo vigorous accuracy control. Our team of experts verifies every value added to the component with reference materials and manufacturer datasheets.
A high component class within the catalog reflects the great accuracy of the details and parameters associated with that component, instilling confidence in PV designers that their simulations will yield precise results and prospective energy outputs.
Component classification provides valuable insight into the extent to which the component’s data is comprehensive, accurate, and trustworthy, allowing you to make informed decisions about selecting components for your project.
The different classifications are explained in the table below.

Our team of experts classify the components after performing the necessary checks and verifying the sources.
You can use your own components privately without requesting a review and without publishing them once you validate them. However, such components can reach a maximum classification of “C”, and this will also be reflected in the final reports.
Improving your component classification
If you are a PVCC contributor and want to improve the classification of your component, refer to the Component classification section on the component details page and provide the missing data. The requirements used for confidence class evaluation are checked during the review.
Documents can be uploaded through the company management page in the General section.
