Component review process

In this document

We will focus on the component review process, explain its necessity, and explain what the general review process is.

Component review principles

The review process for a PV component is essential for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data provided.

This thorough review must be conducted for every component planned for publication, as it serves to validate the information for public use in integrated applications.

Experts in the field carry out the review, meticulously comparing the entered parameters and data against relevant publications, datasheets, and established electrical principles. This rigorous evaluation not only enhances the credibility of the component but also contributes to its confidence class within the catalog; the more detailed and accurate the data entered, the higher the confidence class will be.

Ultimately, a robust review process fosters trust among users and promotes the adoption of reliable components in photovoltaic designs.

The review process

Available to Editor and Admin users only. Only components with the “ Validated” status can be submitted for review.

You can submit components for review to our expert team.

Our team of experts reviews every value you add to the component, reads the attached documentation, and compares the data to their sources. The process is thorough and extensive.

The review results

Once the review has been completed, your component’s status will change to one of the following:

  • Approved - the component passed the review process and can be published.

  • Rejected - the component did not meet all the requirements, and its data need to be amended.

The review results are indicated on the component details page in the right sidebar under the confidence class. If your component has been rejected, you will find the reasons there.

Use the “more” links to read the relevant result details.

You can edit the rejected component, rectify the mistakes, or fill in missing values. Once you finish editing your component, it will be validated again.

If the validation has been successful, you can repeat the review procedure again (send the component for a review). Alternatively, you can archive it and use it as a template for future components.

You can not edit, delete, or archive components once submitted for review.

Review and confidence class

The confidence class of the component is also reevaluated in the review step. After a specialist reviews all the provided information and attachments, the requirements for classification of the confidence class are evaluated. The new confidence class is determined based on the fulfilled criteria. You can see which criteria have passed and the final class in confidence class card after the review.
