We will show you how to proceed when creating GTI and PV Energy systems.
Evaluate energy systems
The Evaluate application offers two different energy system types, accommodating various scenarios:
GTI Energy system
PV Energy system
Global Tilted Irradiation (GTI) energy system is designed using optimal parameters for the selected location. This system lets you change parameters such as mounting type, azimuth, and tilt. Everything else is added to the cohesion by the system with system-default parameters.
A much more advanced PV Energy system benefits from our advanced energy system designer, where you assemble and configure the system in more detail. The system uses generic or manufacturer-specific components from our PV Components Catalog and calculates the system feasibility parameters utilizing our progressive PV Simulator.
Creating a new energy system
You can create energy systems on the Energy system page, and you can have multiple GTI and PV energy systems to compare their parameters. There are two ways to create an energy system:
Start a new energy system - start anew and configure all its parameters from scratch.
Duplicate an existing one - start with a copy of an existing energy system and change only what’s needed.
Duplication is a useful way to create an energy system that will be similar to an existing one, where only a few parameters need to change.
Starting from scratch
To start creating a new energy system, use the “+Create” button and select the energy system type. You will be redirected to the energy system designer, where you will continue creating your GTI or PV energy system.
Duplicating an energy system
To duplicate an existing energy system:
Find the energy system you want to copy and open its options menu.
Click “Duplicate” to duplicate it. The energy system designer will open with the copy of the energy system loaded.
Alternatively, you can duplicate an energy system using the “Duplicate” button in the notification popup when attempting to edit an already simulated energy system.
Editing energy systems
You can edit any of your energy systems if required. However, here are some important facts you need to know before you start editing:
You can edit a non-simulated energy system unlimitedly until you are satisfied with the design.
If you edit an already simulated energy system, the analysis data will become unusable - you will need to run the simulation again to reflect the changes in the analysis results.
Instead of editing the already simulated energy system, we recommend duplicating it, executing the changes there, and simulating it afterward. This will also provide you with a comparison opportunity.
Energy system summary
PV systems offer a detailed summary of their parameters, accessible through the icon located in the energy system table on your project energy system page.
The summary is structured similarly to the energy system designer for better navigation. Essentially, it is a list of all energy system parameters, which you can navigate using the menu to the left. You can close the summary using the “Close” button.
