We will explain how to connect the catalog to the Solargis Evaluate application to use your private components in your projects.
Catalog components in Evaluate
You can use all public catalog components in Solargis Evaluate without performing any additional steps. Public catalog components are available to all Evaluate users by default.
However, if you want to upload a component and use it privately in your company projects without publishing it, you must connect your catalog account with the Solargis Evaluate application.
Connecting catalog with Evaluate
This procedure is available to admin users only.
We use an API key to connect the catalog with the Solargis Evaluate.
Navigate to My company page.
Select “API Access” from the navigation menu.
Your active key will be displayed at the top. You will see only its name. If you lost your API key and need to connect the catalog to Evaluate, you must regenerate it.
Regenerate the key if you have lost it or need a new one. The previous key will be deactivated.
Generating your first key
When generating the key for the first time:
Navigate to the My company/API access page.
Generate your key using the “Create new key” button. The key will be generated and presented to you in a popup. Copy the key to the clipboard and enter it into the Evaluate application.
Save the key for future reference as it will not be shown again due to confidence and safety reasons. If you lose it, you will have to generate a new one and replace it in your Evaluate application.
Regenerating your key
Beware that the active key will no longer be valid once you generate a new one. You will need to replace it with the new key in Evaluate to enable the integration again.
If you need a new key, you can generate a new one:
Navigate to the My company/API access page.
Click the “Regenerate key” button to create a new key. Proceed in the popup dialog and store the key.
Adding the key to Evaluate
Once you have obtained your key, you must copy it to your Solargis Evaluate account:
In the Evaluate application, go to Company administration / Integration / PVcomponents.com / Manage.
Paste the PVCC key to the Private API key field.
Hit the “Save and Close” button to save it.
You can find the technical details of the API integration in our API documentation.
Usage tracking
You can view your catalog/Evaluate connection usage and remaining limits in the company admin section under Usage.
