Overview
Push Delivery is a service designed to automate the delivery of Solargis datasets directly to a user’s remote directory in CSV format. This process ensures seamless integration into your systems, enabling efficient use of solar and PV data for monitoring and forecasting applications.
Setting up the Push Delivery
Push Delivery is set in two steps:
Definition of the request: You will prepare a data request file, providing information about your locations (with PV assets) and other parameters based on which you will receive Solargis datasets from the service.
Push delivery setup: We will take your data request file and set up the Push Delivery for you.
The data request file specifies the parameters required for data delivery, while the response files contain the requested datasets in an easy-to-process CSV format.
Key features of the service
Request Format: Submit a single Excel file specifying multiple locations (or PV arrays for the same location).
Push Schedule: Datasets are pushed at regular intervals (e.g., monthly, daily, hourly, sub-hourly).
Remote Folder: SFTP folder provided either by Solargis or hosted on the user’s infrastructure.
Data Availability: Matches the coverage of the respective Monitor or Forecast service.
Use Case: Ideal for large-scale monitoring and forecasting setups.
Setup and Pricing: Contact us to configure your trial or discuss pricing.
Definition of the request
To initiate Push Delivery, you must provide a properly formatted data request file. The file should follow these guidelines:
File format: The data request must be a valid Excel file conforming to the Solargis Data Request Template. Please, download your own copy in Excel format and fill in according to examples and the ‘Parameters’ worksheet.
Validation: Data requests are validated and maintained by Solargis to ensure accuracy and compliance with delivery requirements.
The data parameters used in the data request file are outlined in the respective Monitor or Forecast subscription details.
Submitting the data request file
After you have prepared the data request file, please submit it to your Solargis account manager to set up the Monitor/Forecast Push Delivery service.
Example data requests
Data requests for monitoring and forecasting use specifications defined in the Solargis Data Request Template.
Key points to remember:
Monitoring requests do not require
fromDate
andtoDate
parameters. Push schedule for monitoring triggers automatically every day and every month. In forecasting requests, you must specify
forecastFromDay
andforecastToDay
parameters to define the forecast period relative to today (e.g., forecastFromDay=0 means today, forecastToDay=7 means seven days ahead).Parameters
fromDate
andtoDate
are only required for ad hoc delivery of historical datasets (for date period definition).

Internally, Solargis will convert Excel data requests into the CSV format typically placed inside the user’s SFTP folder.
Response format
The Push Delivery responses are provided as datasets in Solargis CSV file format in a user’s remote directory, making them suitable for automated processing and integration into your systems. Each response file includes:
Title section: Identifies the content of the file (e.g., site details, time period).
Metadata section: Provides additional information about the dataset (e.g., units, summarization).
Data section: Contains timestamped values corresponding to your requested parameters.
