We will show you how to examine your horizon shading data for your project’s location, how you can edit it, and how to download your project’s horizon data.
Far horizon shading
Far horizon shading is calculated from the environmental data and depicts the shading caused by the surrounding terrain. Our system uses Solargis horizon shading data by default. The horizon shading is included under the Site properties section.
Tip: You can edit the far horizon shading using the “Edit” button.
Editing the far horizon shading
You can modify and enter your own far horizon shading data if required. Once you enter edit mode, you can paint the shading directly in the image using your mouse (1) or scroll down and enter the horizon data as text (2) in the following form:
Azimuth (degrees from North): Elevation (degrees from horizontal)
To save the horizon shading edits, click the “OK” button. This horizon setting will also be applied to the 3D energy system designer map.
Downloading the horizon data
If you require, you can download the site’s horizon data to a HOR file.
While in the horizon editing mode, open the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, select “Export to HOR file,” and save it to your computer.
