The **Analysis** page is where you evaluate your project's data. It provides detailed information about **solar**, **meteorological**, and **environmental** data related to your project, together with PV statistics, losses, long-term degradation, and uncertainty analysis for selected PV energy systems. It is your key to establishing the feasibility of your project. This document describes the page and how to use it. To learn how to read each individual chart, see [How to read the charts](/v1/docs/how-to-read-the-charts). For an introduction to all six sections of the project navigation menu, see [Working with Evaluate projects](/v1/docs/working-with-your-evaluate-projects). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae2d502f-6c0d-4865-a68e-43ad8da61149/Images/Documentation/image-GF1LLLIX.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T00%3A06%3A56Z&se=2026-10-31T01%3A06%3A56Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=AD83GmwP1ISRpllTRc9fm4Z9m9xmknClOl7dZTnEORA%3D) ## Analysis categories The Analysis page consists of the following categories: - **Solar resources**: includes data such as global horizontal and tilted irradiances, direct normal irradiation, and diffuse horizontal irradiation. This data is directly related to the selected dataset or energy system, and the values displayed depend on several factors, such as shading (horizon) or, in the case of an energy system, the installation angle. - **Climate**: contains charts informing about parameters such as temperature, speed and direction of the wind, wind gusts at the surface level, and more. - **Environment**: includes information about albedo and precipitable water. The **Climate** and **Environment** data are location-related and do not change regardless of the selected energy system. They are calculated automatically after the project activation. If you select a PV energy system in the energy system selector, you will find additional **PV statistics**, **PV losses**, and **PV long-term degradation** categories, which depict the performance and losses of your PV energy system once it has been simulated. If you requested uncertainty estimates for your project, the **Uncertainty** category will also be present. ## Energy system selector and displayed data The energy system selector lets you **select the data you wish to display and analyze:** - You will gain access to the [default location data](/docs/data-analysis#default-location-data) after the project [activation](/v1/docs/creating-new-projects-in-evaluate#activating-the-project). - Once you [create](/v1/docs/creating-pv-energy-system) an **energy system** and [simulate](/v1/docs/creating-new-projects-in-evaluate#simulating-your-energy-system) it, you can select it here to display its data. The analysis data for energy systems is different from location-only data, affected by the energy system's parameters. - Additionally, **PV statistics** and **losses** are also shown for **PV energy systems**. - Parameters such as the type of the system or dataset, data type, and calculation status are displayed next to the selector. These are described in [Overview page](/v1/docs/project-overview-page#energy-system-selector). > [!TIP] > **Note**: What you select in the energy system selector directly determines the data, its granularity, and the categories displayed in the **Analysis** page. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae2d502f-6c0d-4865-a68e-43ad8da61149/Images/Documentation/image-1783683660677.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T00%3A06%3A56Z&se=2026-10-31T01%3A06%3A56Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=AD83GmwP1ISRpllTRc9fm4Z9m9xmknClOl7dZTnEORA%3D) ### Default location data The **default analysis data** are marked with the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae2d502f-6c0d-4865-a68e-43ad8da61149/Images/Documentation/image(112).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T00%3A06%3A56Z&se=2026-10-31T01%3A06%3A56Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=AD83GmwP1ISRpllTRc9fm4Z9m9xmknClOl7dZTnEORA%3D) icon and represent the **default location data**. They cannot be edited. - For the **Early stage**, only **Solargis TMY P50** data will be available (yearly, monthly, and hourly statistics based on 15-minute data). - For a **Full evaluation**, you gain access to an additional **Solargis Time Series** dataset containing detailed location data with the highest granularity available (up to 1-minute data). > [!TIP] > **Note**: For all **non-simulated energy systems**, only climate and environmental data are displayed. These data sets are identical across all such systems. The solar resource data category is not included for non-simulated energy systems. ### Energy system-related data If you select one of your **simulated energy systems** (GTI or PV), the related analysis data will be shown. The [PV statistics, PV system losses, and PV long-term degradation](/v1/docs/energy-system-statistics-losses-and-long-term-degradation) categories will also be available. These categories are not available for GTI energy systems. ## The data charts and tables Every category presents the data in the form of **charts and tables.** **Charts** give you a visualization of the data to spot patterns or extremes quickly, and **tables** complement them, providing concrete values for every data point. Every category contains a **summary section** providing an overview of the core parameters. Use the chart's **detailed statistics** links to dive deeper into the data and view a detailed parameter analysis. At the bottom of each chart page is an **explanation card** to help you understand the data you are viewing and access the documentation if required. You can learn more about the individual charts and tables in [How to read the charts](/v1/docs/how-to-read-the-charts). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae2d502f-6c0d-4865-a68e-43ad8da61149/Images/Documentation/image-1783683674081.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T00%3A06%3A56Z&se=2026-10-31T01%3A06%3A56Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=AD83GmwP1ISRpllTRc9fm4Z9m9xmknClOl7dZTnEORA%3D) > [!WARNING] > **Important**: > > - Be aware that the simulation for the **GTI energy system** uses a **view factor** approach with an **isotropic sky model** to provide fast results. > - Simulation for **PV energy system** utilizes **path tracing** approach with **anisotropic sky model** for more accurate results. Because of this, you will see slight differences in the respective simulated GHI and GTI values. The simulations also consider horizon shading. Complementary tables provide **shaded** and **non-shaded** values for your convenience and for comparison with 3rd party software, for example PVsyst. The default location shading data for datasets marked with ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae2d502f-6c0d-4865-a68e-43ad8da61149/Images/Documentation/image(114).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T00%3A06%3A56Z&se=2026-10-31T01%3A06%3A56Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=AD83GmwP1ISRpllTRc9fm4Z9m9xmknClOl7dZTnEORA%3D) icon are calculated using **Solargis far horizon.** > **Tip**: You can edit any energy system's horizon data in the [Energy system designer](/v1/docs/energy-system-configurator) under the [Site properties](/v1/docs/site-properties#site-properties). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae2d502f-6c0d-4865-a68e-43ad8da61149/Images/Documentation/image-1783683685519.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T00%3A06%3A56Z&se=2026-10-31T01%3A06%3A56Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=AD83GmwP1ISRpllTRc9fm4Z9m9xmknClOl7dZTnEORA%3D) ## Data heatmaps Some parameters offer additional **heatmaps** to assist you in quickly spotting extremes and patterns. Work with them in conjunction with the charts. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/ae2d502f-6c0d-4865-a68e-43ad8da61149/Images/Documentation/image-1783683697068.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-31T00%3A06%3A56Z&se=2026-10-31T01%3A06%3A56Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=AD83GmwP1ISRpllTRc9fm4Z9m9xmknClOl7dZTnEORA%3D) ## Uncertainty After requesting uncertainty data on the [Data & services page](/v1/docs/data-and-services-page#activating-add-on-data), you will get access to the **Uncertainty** category. The [Uncertainty](/v1/docs/ghi-and-dni-uncertainty) information in solar projects is crucial for assessing risks, forecasting, performance, optimizing design, developing operational strategies, and creating financial models. It primarily depends on model parameterization, ground measurement accuracy, and interannual variability of solar radiation. Key points: - Site adaptation can reduce uncertainty for GHI, DNI, and GTI estimates. - Uncertainty decreases over longer time periods. - Extreme events like volcanic eruptions can impact long-term estimates. ## PV energy system data **PV statistics, PV system losses,** and **PV long-term degradation** categories are included for PV energy systems only. Their details are outlined in [PV statistics and long-term degradation](/v1/docs/energy-system-statistics-losses-and-long-term-degradation) and [PV system losses](/v1/docs/pv-system-losses).
