# Units converter

**In this document**

You will learn how to use the Units converter.

## Prerequisites

- An active Solargis Analyst account.
- Installed an Analyst desktop application.
- An available dataset in the Solargis Analyst application.

## Units converter

The **Units converter** allows measurements from a dataset to be converted from their existing units to new, desired units. For example, your Global Horizontal Irradiance (GHI) values are in W/m2and you want to convert them to kW/m2. Apart from converting the units, the Units Converter enables you to open the dataset in a table form to explore the columns and their values by clicking the “Table view” button.

1. From the main menu, select **Tools/Units Converter.**
2. **Select the parameter** you want to change units for in the Column selector.
3. Select target units. Only available units will be listed.
4. Click the**“Convert”**button to make the conversion.

The conversion will be applied to the selected parameter and saved to the dataset.
