# Sign up to the catalog

**In this document**

We will guide you through the signup process and teach you how to create your account.

## Creating your account

You can create a PV catalog account in two ways:

- by creating a **new company account,**
- by **receiving an invitation** to join a company.

### Invitations

**Invitations** are initiated by the company account **administrators**. You will receive an email and create your account by following the email instructions. This will ensure you are invited to a particular company. You can determine user’s role when sending the invitation.

> **Note**: Invitations allow the invitee's role to be a **reader, editor**, or **administrator**.

| Role | Description |
| --- | --- |
| Reader | Can view all component details, download component data, and view selected account information. |
| Editor | Can view and edit component details, submit components for review, publish components, and view selected account information. |
| Administrator | Can view and edit component details, add new components, submit components for a review, publish components, manage users and integrations, and view/edit all available account information. |

### Company accounts

**Creating a new company** will generate a brand new company account, and you will automatically become its **administrator**. Company accounts need to be validated to ensure the eligibility of its users to add new components to the catalog.

> **Note**: Company administrators can create new catalog entry requests and manage company users. Additionally, they can also view the company’s **API access data**and its****[usage](https://kb.solargis.com/docs/pvcc-company-account-and-user-management#usage)**.**

## Account creation process

To manually create a new company account, navigate to the catalog [website](https://catalog.pvcomponents.com/catalog):

1. Click the **“Sign up”** button.
2. Enter your **credentials**into the respective fields.
3. Agree to our **terms & conditions** and sign up for our newsletter (optional).

After entering your details and agreeing to our T&Cs, click the**“Continue”**button. A new prompt to verify your email will show. **The activation link will be sent to you via email.**

> **Tip**: If you have received an email invitation to join a company, clicking the link in the email will take you to step 2 above. You can continue from there.

### Adding your company details

Once you confirm your email, you will be redirected to **enter your company details** in the next step. Ensure all information is correct, as they are reviewed when approving the registration. Please pay particular attention to entering the **correct VAT ID** (EU customers).
