# Managing the components

**In this document**

You'll learn how to use the My components management page (editors and admins only) to view, edit, duplicate, or submit components; the component status table (Concept, Validated, Review Pending, Review in progress, Rejected, Approved, Published, Expired, Archived) with editability and available actions for each; the rule that published components can never be deleted; and how to start editing a component (only allowed in Concept, Validated, or Rejected status) via the options menu or the component details page.

## Prerequisites

- An active Solargis PV components catalog account.
- Admin or editor access for editing purposes.

## Components management page

1. You can view, edit, duplicate, or submit new components through the **My components section**.
2. You can **edit** or **duplicate** a component through the component’s options menu. The component’s details page will also open when you **click the component’s name.**
3. You can add new components [manually](https://kb.solargis.com/docs/adding-component-manually) or by [importing](https://kb.solargis.com/docs/importing-the-components) using the bulk upload feature.

Each component’s information, such as [confidence class](https://kb.solargis.com/docs/component-confidence-classification) or status, is displayed on the list along with its last modification date.

> [!WARNING]
> **Important**: Published components cannot be deleted from the catalog, as someone might have used them in their design, and they need to be stored for future reference.

The component’s status determines its editability, availability in the catalog, and possible actions. Once you have integrated your third-party application into your catalog account, you can use the components in your designs privately once they reach **Validated** status.

### Component status

Check our [Component addition](https://kb.solargis.com/docs/adding-components-to-the-catalog) guide to learn how to add new components to the catalog.

## Editing your components

You can only edit components with the **Concept, Validated**, and **Rejected** status.

You can edit your and your company’s components only. To start editing, open the components options menu and select **“Edit”**. Alternatively, open the component’s details and click **“Edit”** at the top right.
