We will show you how to compare multiple projects and their parameters.
Comparing your Prospect projects
As you explore different locations for your photovoltaic (PV) projects, the Prospect’s Compare feature is here to help you evaluate and contrast solar resource values and feasibility across various sites. By using this tool, you can compare PV configurations, solar and climate data, PVOUT estimates, losses, or financial analysis of up to four sites.
The comparison mode offers the following:
A comparison category menu: Use to select the data types you want to compare.
The project selector tabs: Contain basic information about the compared projects. By clicking any of them you can highlight its data in the comparison tables and view the differences in values compared to the other selected locations.
Comparison tables and charts: They provide data comparison based on the selected menu category.
How to work with the comparison mode
Selecting the projects to compare
To compare projects, select two or more projects on the Projects page. Next, click the “Compare” button at the top right to compare the projects. The UI will switch to the comparison mode.
Alternatively, you can switch to the Compare mode using the top navigation and add projects to the comparison from there.
Selecting data to compare
When you initiate a comparison, you will see the comparison overview page by default. It offers general overview of all parameters available for the projects. Only data that is included (generated) for each project will be displayed and compared. Each overview tab contains links to detailed comparison of the particular data.
You can navigate the menu categories as you normally would when examining a single project data. Only this time, the data in each category is presented in a different, comparison format. Use the navigation menu to compare the different data types.
Reading the data tables
The tables show values of every parameter for every location by default. The location with the highest value is highlighted for quick reference. For example, in the case of PVOUT, this can give you a first indication which site may have the best energy yield potential.
If you select one of the projects (project selector tabs), the displayed data method will change. Now, you will see the value for the selected project only, and the rest of the projects will only show the difference (positive/negative). This is useful when knowing the exact discrepancy in values is required.
If you are comparing a parameter visualized by a chart, the selected project’s values will serve as a baseline (always zero) and other project’s charts will depict the difference.
Adding and removing projects from the comparison
If you are comparing less than four projects and you want to add another project to the comparison, use the “Add to compare” button at the top of the comparison page and select the project you want to add.
Selected projects will remain in the comparison until removed. You can navigate the Prospect application, create new projects, or export data. When you return to the comparison page, your projects will still be there. You can remove a project from the comparison by closing it on the comparison page.
